| According to your parameters. For spring, when we get most of our rain, it's much worse. I see cracks in soil in places. We need more than .25 inches now and then.! |

| After all the rain and flooding we experienced in recent weeks, things are getting back to normal. Farmers hit the fields hard this week planting corn and soy beans. The wheat in fields that were not submerged looks decent. Outdoor work such as road construction and building has returned to normal. We have had a lot of wind which has contributed to drying out of the soil. |

| Overnight rain of .36 did not do a lot to alleviate the lack of snow over the winter. Still experiencing a drought, hopeful the predicted rain over the next 4 days will change the area. Farmers have started planting for the season, grass/wild fires have been more prevalent. Birds, rabbits etc are looking for water, using any small amount they can find such as a water fountain not yet running for the summer. |

| In the past week, we have had a total of 1.72 inches of rain, 1.56 of which came from April 17th's storm. Heavy winds, lightning, and rain were the main characteristics of that storm. The rain fell on powdery, dry soil with a few signs of early spring: bluebells and Dutchman's Breeches have foliage of less than 1" and some grasses are greening in yards and ditches. Expecting early mushrooms after rains.
The bird feeder species observed this week are: Bluejay; Chickadees; Jonchos; Nuthatches; Robins; Starlings; Downy Woodpecker, and, Piliated Woodpecker. |

| We received 0.11 in. of rain this week. Vegetation is getting lush and spring bloomers are growing fast. Iris started blooming this week as well as spirea. Lilacs are still going strong, but redbud and wild plum are fading. Some of my daffodils are still at peak bloom, but most of them are done. Neighbors' tulips are past peak. My grass is starting to come out of dormancy and I have only mowed once mainly to knock back star of bethlehem and henbit. Many trees are leafing out and pollen is super high making seasonal allergies a little rough. Birds are not coming to the feeders as much but rabbits are moving around more. |
