 The event started as occasional sleet showers at 1:15 am early Tuesday morning, 21 January 2025; only a trace amount of sleet fell. (I reported the trace sleet in yesterday's report). Snow started between 10:00 and 10:30 am CST Tuesday morning and ended between 8:00 and 8:30 pm CST Tuesday evening. Total snow accumulation measured with a ruler (using a CoCoRAHS-recommended white board lying flat on the ground under the snow) was right at 9 inches (I have a picture). The water equivalent amount of melted snow which fell into the outer gauge cylinder was 0.81", providing a snow to liquid equivalent ratio of 11.1. The water equivalent amount of melted outer-gauge cylinder snow-core obtained from coring the snow accumulated above the white board was 0.82", providing a snow to liquid equivalent ratio of 11.0 for the core.
